We don’t have to live in Vermont, but we chose to.  From the sheer physical beauty of Vermont in each of its distinct seasons, to the fascinating characters we have come to know and admire, to the cultural and recreational activities… we feel blessed every day.  Please let us share our enthusiasm for living in Vermont with you!

LOCAL EVENTS

These events happen annually and are a part of the life-blood of the Central Vermont community.

Summer Concert Series on the Park: Live music in the Summer most Sundays on the Town Bandstand in Rochester. Bring a picinic dinner!

RCMS Summer Concert Series: World-class performers are brought to Central Vermont by the Rochester Chamber Music Society. The performances are preceded by an informative talk by Middlebury College educator Larry Hamberlin.

Quechee Balloon Festival: Each June--a fabulous display of color and fun to be had by all. Check out the website for more details..

Chandler Productions: There is always something fabulous happening at the Chandler Arts Center. Vist the Chandler website for the latest events.

BigTown BigTent: a 10-day BigTent Poetry and Music Festival from July 31-August 10 in BigTown's natural outdoor amphitheater. Check out the BigTown Gallery website for more details.

WRVP Harvest Fair: Each August on the Rochester Town park featuring live entertainment and a chicken BBQ sponsored by the White River Valley Players.

New World Festival: Held each September. An all-day, all-weather festival of Celtic and French Canadian music and dance performed on five stages simultaneously in historic Chandler Music Hall. Visit their website for more details.

Killington Music Festival: Summer brings fabulous music to the mountains. Check out the Killington Music festival website for all the details.

WRVP Musical: This community theater production by the White River Valley Players happens once per year in the Spring in Rochester. Lots of fun!

Rochester is a great place to raise a family, with plenty of seasonal activities,
a K-12 school system and a nurturing community.

Camp Killooleet: A wonderful summer camp for kids 9-14 in Hancock, Vermont. Visit their website for more details.

Vermont State Parks and Campgrounds: Lots to do here! Expore the possibilities at their website.

4th of July Parade: Almost every town has thier own local flavor. Check with your Town office for details.

WRVP Summer Theater Camp: Lots of fun for all! Contact WRVP for further details.

Chandler Summer Theater Camp: A production created entirely by kids with a performance 4th of July weekend. Contact Betsy Cantlin in January to get involved. Auditions take place in early February.

Green Mountain Suzuki Institute Summer Camp: Kids come from all over to attend this fabulous event held at the Rochester School every summer. Check out the GMSI website for more details.

The Rochester Library has lots of special summer programs for kids. Check out their website for the latest info.

Center for Valley Youth (CVY) isa safe, fun place for area youth to be with their friends and allows them the opportunity to take part in planned activities. Call Katy Landwehr at 767-4124 for more information.
